EXCITING ECOLOGY ADVENTURE by Pamela Zinnel
Imagine a group of eager 6th graders, standing at the base of the majestic San Bernardino mountains, their eyes filled with wonder and excitement. Thanks to your generous support, these students are about to embark on a life-changing adventure. Picture them forming tight-knit groups of four to five, united by a common goal: to build a shelter using only the resources Mother Nature provides. It's a task that will test their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. As the days pass, these young minds collaborate, plan, and trudge through the pristine snow-covered landscape, searching for pieces of nature to craft their shelters. They learn to respect the environment, leaving it as they found it, instilling in them a deep sense of responsibility for our planet. This is just one of the transformative lessons our 6th graders will experience during our Outdoor Science Camp. But the impact goes beyond shelter-building. These students will discover the intricate web of life in the forest, learning how all living things depend on each other. They'll grasp the importance of caring for our Earth, an invaluable lesson in today's world. They'll hike trails, explore plant and wildlife, observe the beauty of nature, and gaze in awe at the night sky. However, this incredible opportunity comes at a significant cost for many of our low-socioeconomic students. This year, in a pivotal shift, the camp is scheduled for the end of September, making fundraising more critical than ever. By supporting our cause, you can help these young minds gain priceless experiences, skills, and a profound connection to nature, ensuring that they become responsible stewards of our planet. Join us in making this Outdoor Science Camp a reality for these deserving 6th graders. Together, we can nurture the environmental leaders of tomorrow.
